Week 16/03/26

1–2 minutes

This week, we had our weekly group tutorial and made more decisions about the app, especially the main features and push-goal features we wanted to include. This helped make the direction of the project clearer and gave us a better idea of what the app should actually do, rather than just having general ideas.

I created a flow diagram on Miro to map out how the app is intended to work. This was useful because it helped me think more clearly about the user journey and how each screen or feature connects together. It made me realise that planning the structure of an app properly is really important before starting the design stage, as it helps avoid confusion later on.

I also created the style guide in Figma using a premade template. I found this really helpful because it meant I had all the fonts, colours, and other design elements saved in one place ready for when I started designing the app. I think this will be useful going forward because it should help me keep the design consistent and make the whole process more organised.

To improve my understanding of Figma, I watched a few tutorials online and on YouTube. The more I used it, the easier it became, and I feel like I picked it up quite quickly. This gave me more confidence with prototyping and showed me that learning new software becomes much easier through practice.
